1/ About the prices & public transportation

What’s the first thing after landing? It’s definitely searching how to go to the city.

From London and Stansted Airport, the airport express ticket is about 20 GBP (24 EUR). Then guess how much the airport express bus ticket in Prague costs? It is 100 CZK (4 EUR). It is ONLY one-sixth! My price made my trip have a good beginning.

The public transportation system in Prague is well designed. The tickets are on time bases (eg. 30 mins, 45 mins). With the ticket, you can access all public transport (except airport express), including trams, buses, and the metro. The ticket vending machine can be found at the metro station.

2/ About the city

Besides the tourist spots, you also can find the historical atmosphere in the entire city. Every corner of the city shows its special stories. From the bridge, castles, to the stores, none of them let me down.

The beauty of the city shines especially during sunset. The sunshine covers the roofs and makes the city even more orange. My friend and I enjoyed the sunset view at the castle, which is on the hill. There is no word able to describe how stunning it was.

Prague is a special capital. The city is full of stories. For example, it is where the Defenestration of Prague happened, which leads to the Thirty Years’ War. Now you can see how important a role Prague plays in history. If you are interested in European history, Prague definitely drives you crazy.

3/ About the café

Same as in many touristy areas, the prices in the center of Prague are also “touristy.” My friend and I, luckily, found a local café with a cozy environment and affordable price. It is called Sladká Cesta Caffé.

There are various cakes and pies. The price is about 80–100 CZK. According to my friend, who studies in Germany, some desserts are also common in Germany.

Chill time! Sitting in the café, enjoying the desserts, and watching the passengers on the streets.

4/ About the street food

Kürtőskalács (Trdelník) 煙囪卷

There are tremendous trdelník stores on the street. The price is about 70 CZK without ice cream and 130 CZK with ice cream.

The root of this word, trdlo, is the name of the wooden tool the cake ingredients are wrapped around during cooking.

In my opinion, ice cream is not necessary. Ice cream covers the flavor of the bread and makes the pastry too sweet. The crispy hot bread with spread is just right!

Prague Ham

Near the Old Town Square, some food stands sell Prague ham.

It is tasty and juicy, but it is not affordable. The price is based on the weight of the ham. I would suggest you have someone and share it together if you want to give it a try.

5/ About Dioká Šárka (A Natural Park)

Different from other tourists, we are really looking forward to something natural and special.

We used to plan to visit Bohemian, which takes 2 hours by train from Prague, but it would make the schedule too tense. After discussion, we decided to go to a natural park called Dioká Šárka in the countryside.

It is at the final station of tram no. 26. The entrance of the park is right next to the station. The park is easily accessible from the city. It takes about 30 mins by tram from the city center.

Unfortunately, it was not warm enough when we visited the park. There were rarely leaves. When the spring comes, the entire park is going to be amazing and really good for picnics.

The view from the top of the hills

There are several routes. You can walk by the river or go hiking. Trees, rivers, birds, and hills. The views can definitely purify your mind and help you stay away from annoying things.

Look at the picture below. Can you imagine how beautiful the park is going to be? Don’t miss the park when you visit Prague.

6/ About Stamps

The international stamps (Z stamps) sold in Prague are the most beautiful I have ever seen!

The price for each international stamp is 45 CZK. Compared with other European countries, the price is relatively affordable.

BTW, the post office in Prague is also beautiful and spacious. If you want to send the postcards, find Česká Pošta near the train station.
