The flag of Denmark is also called Dannebrog. It is the oldest national flag in the world. The countries in the neighborhood are influenced by the design.

Norway 🇳🇴
Sweden 🇸🇪
Finland 🇫🇮
Iceland 🇮🇸

Danes love the flag. Besides the governmental buildings and the palaces, bus drivers also hang small flags on the windows. Dannebrog is also part of Danish life. Here are the two situations Dannebrog shows up.

Pick-up at The Airport ✈️

At the arrival hall, groups of people are waiting for their friends. There is one thing in common. They have a Dannebrog in hand.

When you go through the door after reclaiming luggage, the red flags are waiting for you. I actually have no idea why they prepare the small flag with them. Maybe there is a meaning, which I don’t know.

Graduation from The University 🎓

There is no graduation ceremony in the university in Denmark. When students finished all the exams of the program, their relatives and friends will bring flowers and Dannebrog to the university and give them to the students to celebrate the achievement. Therefore, it means he/she has officially gotten the degree if someone is holding a bunch of flowers and Dannebrog on campus.
