I’m a badminton lover. As a lover, I definitely will not pause the practice of this sport during the exchange. Fortunately, I make new friends here through badminton.

CBS Badminton Team

At CBS, everyone is eligible to join the badminton team. It’s more like a social club. There is no coach and training. The coaches in the team refer to those arranging the matches. However, only the selected members represent the team to take part in the competition. I was invited to represent the team, and our team was promoted in 2022.

The team is sponsored by CBS. The members pay a small amount of money for a season (two seasons per year). I played badminton twice a week with the CBS team, and I paid 800 DKK for a season. No need to bring shuttlecocks. It is really affordable for students.

While playing badminton, we play music. Every two Fridays, we have “Gin Tonic Friday.” They drink and play (I didn’t drink). Just chill. It doesn’t matter if you are good at badminton or not. The coaches arrange the matches for everyone.

Besides badminton, we have several parties. It is a great opportunity to know the traditional Danish meals and games. We ate, chatted, played games, and drank. Live like a Dane! Sometimes after badminton, we also went to the riverside to chill or went to CBS for clubbing.

I understand Denmark more from them. It is not only the chill things but the reality like school and work. No matter where you are, students are struggling with similar worries.
